TSUNAMI HITS INDONESIA OVER 40 DEAD HUNDREDS INJURED
There has been at least 43 killed and hundreds injured after a tsunami hit beaches, in between the Sunda Strait, in Indonesia at the weekend.
The hardest hit was Pendegland, South Lampung and Serang with the death toll expected to rise.
An audience member filming a Jakarta pop band that was playing at the Tanjung Lesung Beach Resort captured this terrifying vision that was posted on Twitter.
It’s reported that many of the band members are still missing.
According to the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKJ) the cause of the tsunami was due to a combination of undersea landslides after the eruption of Mount Anak Krakatoa and the tidal wave caused by the full moon.
It’s alleged Indonesia’s disaster agency initially told people it was a tidal wave caused by the full moon and not a tsunami.
It’s believed the agency urged people not to panic or spread ‘fake news’, but have now corrected their statement.
