Two men, a man from Port Kennedy and another from Secret Harbour, have been charged after the attack on 71-year-old Sam Baldacchino in the early hours of Saturday morning.
Mr Baldacchino and his wife were unpacking produce for their fresh fruit market stall in the Smart Street Mall when they were taunted by the two.
It’s alleged one of the offenders threw an apple at Mr Baldacchino’s head as they allegedly swore, stole and smashed their produce on the ground.
The incident left Mr Baldacchino with a black eye.
A 19-year-old Secret Harbour man has been charged with:
- Disorderly Behaviour
- Aggravated Assault Occasioning Bodily Harm
- Stealing
He is due to face the Mandurah Magistrates Court on July 5.
A 20-year-old Port Kennedy man has been charged with:
- Disorderly Behaviour
- Stealing
- Damage
His court appearance is to be announced.
