One dead after horror night on Peel roads

A woman has died after a horror night of crashes on roads across the Peel region.

Police say a Nissan Patrol crashed into a tree and burst into flames on South Western Highway in Coolup about 8:40pm.

Emergency services rushed to the scene near Blake Road where they located two people seriously injured.

The RAC Rescue helicopter was deployed to the scene and forced to land in a nearby paddock.

A 31-year-old woman, sitting in the front passenger seat, received critical injuries and died at the scene.

The driver, a 34-year-old man, was flown to Royal Perth Hospital, by the rescue Helicopter with seriuous non-life threatening injuries.

South Western Highway remained closed for several hours as investigators probed the scene.

Another crash, just an hour earlier, saw up to six people involved in a two-car collision in Falcon.

Authorities responded to the crash at the intersection of Old Coast Road and Baroy Street about 8:10pm.

It’s understood one car slammed into the passenger side of another.

A woman sustained severe injuries and was rushed to hospital while the other five people escaped severe injury.

A third crash saw a two-car collision in Mandurah.

It’s understood two hatchbacks crashed and took out a traffic light at the intersection of Anstruther and Pinjarra Road about 8:50pm.

It’s believed no one was seriously injured.

Authorities weren’t just kept busy across the Peel region on Friday.

There were also multiple crashes in Rockingham with more than 10 incidents.

However, there were no serious injuries.
