Man charged after Baldivis police pursuit

A Safety Bay man has been charged after taking police on a wild pursuit through the streets of Baldivis on Monday.

Its alleged police attempted to stop a 2012 white Holden Commodore on Bramall Terrace near Nairn Drive when it failed to stop about 12:30am.

The car sped through several streets and was seen being driven on footpaths and through bollards. 

Afte 15 minutes, the chase came to a dramatic end after the car slammed through bollards on Branchton Loop. 

The driver was arrested and taken into police custody. 

A 20-year-old Safety Bay man was charged with nine offences in total, including reckless driving in a confiscation zone to escape pursuit by police, two counts of possessed a prohibited weapon, steal Motor Vehicle and no authority to drive.

He appeared in court on Monday and is due to reappear in the Rockingham Magistrates Court February 24. 

Investigators are seeking any dash-cam, mobile phone or CCTV footage of the incident.
