‘Driver consumed alcohol’: Four escape serious injury after Baldivis crash

Four people have escaped serious injury after a two-car collision in Baldivis on Saturday night.

Police say a white Holden Colorado was traveling south on Saint Albans Road when it collided with a silver Mitsubishi Triton headed west on Mundijong Road about 11pm.

The impact was so harsh it sent both dual-cab utes off the road and down an embankment before it flipped the silver Triton onto its roof and flung the white Colorado into a tree.

St John Ambulance, police, and firefighters from Rockingham were all on scene to help.

Firefighters had to use hydraulic equipment to free two people who were trapped in the wreck.

A witness told police they saw the Colorado run a stop sign at the intersection.

Police said the driver of the Colorado, a man, in his 40s, had “consumed alcohol” and had allegedly blown over the legal limit.

Authorities at the scene said those involved were extremely lucky the vehicles hit corner to corner, otherwise, it would have been a very different outcome.

The driver of the Colorado and his two passengers, a man and woman, aged in their 30s, were taken to Royal Perth Hospital with minor injuries.

The driver of the Triton, a man, also understood to be in his 40s, was taken to Armadale Hospital with minor injuries.

Anyone who may have witnessed the crash or saw the vehicles leading up to the incident should call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
