City of Rockingham ranger vehicle damaged by fire

A City of Rockingham ranger vehicle has been damaged by fire near Mandurah on Tuesday.

It’s understood the white utility vehicle was parked in the driveway of a Greenfields property when it caught fire about 11:15pm.

City of Rockingham mayor Barry Sammels said no one was injured in the incident.

“The City’s vehicles are insured against fire damage,” he said.

“The cause of the fire is still being investigated.”

A spokeswoman from the Department of Fire and emergency services said the fire was believed to be caused from an electrical fault.

Firefighters estimate the damage bill to be at $35,000.
