A City Beach worker has been injured after she was punched during a vicious attack at the Mandurah Forum last Friday.
The shopping centres management confirmed the staff member was injured about 5pm, on August 30, at the City Beach store, inside the centre, located on Pinjarra Road.
Skeer Media understands a female team member was assaulted after she attempted to stop a woman, believed to be in her 30s, from taking products without paying.
It’s alleged the woman punched the staff member in the head before dragging her to the ground.
Mandurah Forum manager Jacqueline McKenzie said security rushed to the incident and the centre offers ongoing support to retailers.
“Our security team attended within minutes and is assisting WA Police with its inquiries,” Miss McKenzie said.
“We continue to support our retailers and offer on-going training to help deter anti-social behaviour.
“We work closely with local police to curb [out] theft and anti-social behavior.
“Comprehensive security measures [are] in place including a dedicated security team on-site 24-hours a day, supported by an extensive network of CCTV cameras.
When asked what support was being offered to the team member, City Beach refused to comment.
The WA Police Force also refused to comment on the matter.
