Man caught during robbery of Woolworths Mandurah Central

A man has been caught red handed during an alleged burglary in the Mandurah CBD at Woolworths Central overnight.

Whilst conducting patrols of Mandurah CBD, as a part of Operation Sky Kite Three, police say they observed a male inside the store in the early hours of this morning .

The man was arrested as he walked out of the Smart Street supermarket allegedly carrying stolen items.

Operation Sky Kite Three commenced after a series of high profile incidents in the Smart Street Mall and the Mandurah CBD area which included an aggravated assault on an elderly fruit stall owner, an attack on a parking inspector, a brawl involving up to 20 teens, assaults and a stabbing.

A 49-year-old Mandurah man has been charged with Burglary and Stealing offences.

Bail was refused and he will appear in Perth Magistrates Court today, August 21.
