Eight taken to hospital after nasty day on Mandurah roads

Mandurah’s emergency services were kept busy on Wednesday after four separate crashes across the Peel region saw several people taken to Hospital.

The first crash saw four people injured after two cars collided on Pinjarra Road in Ravenswood about 8:40am.

The four occupants were taken to three separate hospitals by St John Ambulance with minor injuries.

A teenage girl was taken to Royal Perth Hospital for pain management.

A man, in his 20s, and a woman, in her 40s, were taken to Peel Health Campus for a check-up.

The fourth, a woman also aged in her 40s, was taken to Rockingham General Hospital.

The second crash saw a three-car-crash occur on Old Mandurah Road in the same suburb shortly after.

A man, in his 20s, sustained minor injuries and was taken to Peel Health Campus.

The third crash saw a man come off a motorcycle in Mandurah about 10:50am.

It’s understood he crashed while riding near roadworks along Mandurah Terrace.

The rider, a man in his 50s, was taken to Peel Health Campus with minor injuries.

Police are conducting inquiries as to whether or not alcohol was a factor of the crash.

The fourth crash occurred about 2:10pm, on Old Coast Road in Halls Head.

A witness told Skeer Media an elderly couple attempted to do a U-turn, in their silver hatchback, at the intersection of Seascapes Boulevard and Old Coast Road.

“They were hit by the Nissan Patrol when they attempted the turn.” The witness said.

It’s understood the elderly couple was taken to hospital in a critical condition.
