Cyclist airlifted to Royal Perth Hospital after North Dandalup crash

A cyclist has been airlifted to hospital after being struck by a car North Dandalup this afternoon.

About 5pm, St John Ambulance and police were called to Hines Road near Scarp Road after a vehicle clipped a man riding a bicycle.

The RAC Rescue helicopter was forced to land on Scarp Road next to North Dandalup Dam.

The man in his 50s, sustained serious deep lacerations and was flown to Royal Perth Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Police closed Scarp Road for more than 30 minutes as paramedics loaded the man into the helicopter.

The road has since reopened.
