One dead, Great Eastern Highway closed after serious crash

A passenger has died after a serious traffic crash in Sawyers Valley.

It’s understood, the car rolled and caught fire about 11pm, on Great Eastern Highway near Stonehouse Loop.

The driver and another passenger were taken to Royal Perth Hospital, their injuries unknown.

The Highway was closed for several hours as Major Crash detectives gathered evidence.

Traffic was diverted around the accident along Stonehouse Loop.

Great Eastern Highway has since reopened.
