Homicide Squad Detectives have charged a 40-year-old Stake Hill man with murder after a shooting near Mandurah on Tuesday.
About 5pm, police and the Tactical Response Group swarmed a semi rural property on stock Road after a 61-year-old man was allegedly shot dead.
Inspector Ron Adams from the Mandurah Police District said a man was shot and killed.
“Just after 5pm, there was an incident in a semi rural property in Stake Hill,” he said.
“As a result a male person was shot and is now deceased.
“Just after 8pm, tactical responses Group Officers entered that property and have now taken a male suspect into custody.”
The police air wing kept an eye on things from above as well as the RAC Rescue helicopter which was also spotted circling nearby.
The investigation was handed over to the Homicide Squad Detectives.
Stock Road remained closed in both directions throughout the night as Forensic Police gathered evidence.
The man will face the Perth Magistrates Court on Wednesday.
