Police staff member faces corruption charges

The Western Australian Police Internal Affairs Unit have charged a 32-year-old police staff member from Middle Swan with corruption.

The charge arises from an investigation into allegations that between August 2017 and January 2019, whilst working at the Police Assistance Centre, the employee received in excess of $16,000 following the release of information obtained from Police computer systems.

The police staff member, who is suspended from duty, will appear in the Midland Magistrate’s Court on March 26 .
