An elderly woman has died after she was hit by a car near Mandurah Forum.
About 10.45am on Thursday, the woman was crossing the road when she was struck by a white Ford Focus.
It’s understood she sustained serious injuries and was given CPR more than 15 minutes, she died from her injuries.
One of the bystanders who came to the woman’s aid before authorities arrived was an off-duty Peel Health Campus doctor.
A witness told Skeer Media the impact of the crash propelled the woman’s body into the air.
“There was a massive pool of blood,” the witness told Skeer Media.
It’s understood an elderly man was driving the sedan and remained at the scene while she was treated.
The window of the Ford Focus was left shattered and bloodstained.
The man was travelling west along Pinjarra Road at the time of the incident.
Authorities temporarily closed the westbound right lane of Pinjarra Road.
