The police helicopter was called in to assist with a police chase in Mandurah on Saturday that resulted with one man in custody.
About 12:13am, police went to intercept a Suzuki Swift with false plates on Reserve Drive in Mandurah when it failed to stop.
The pursuit went for over 20 minutes through several suburbs with the car traveling on the wrong side of the road and reaching speeds of up to at 150 kilometres per hour.
The police helicopter continued surveillance of the Suzuki for about 30 minutes.
About 12:42am, the Police Air Wing observed the driver dump the vehicle and run into a house on Dyer Lane in Lakelands.
Police swarmed the property and arrested the man.
Local residents took to social media platforms to express their concern as police sirens and a helicopter could be heard in the area.
A 38-year-old Lakelands man has been charged with Reckless Driving to Escape Pursuit by Police.
